Trusting God When You Can’t Feel Him: Faith Over Feelings
There are seasons when God feels distant - when prayers seem unanswered, doors remain closed, and peace feels elusive. In these moments, feelings can fluctuate, but God’s faithfulness never changes.
So how do you remind yourself of His presence when you can’t feel it? I revisit His track record: every answered prayer, every closed door that became protection, every “coincidence” that was really His hand guiding me.
Faith is not measured by our emotions; it is anchored in God’s promises and His proven track record in our lives.
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. (Deuteronomy 31:8) Share on X
Ways to Remember God’s Presence
- Reflect on Past Faithfulness
Look back at the ways God has already worked in your life. Remember His guidance, protection, and answered prayers. Let these stories of provision reinforce your trust. - Focus on His Promises, Not Your Feelings
Feelings are temporary, but God’s Word is eternal. Meditate on Scriptures that remind you He is always with you, even when unseen. - Keep a Record of God’s Work
Write down prayers, answered requests, and moments of protection. Journaling God’s faithfulness helps remind your heart that He is present, even when it doesn’t feel like it. - Act in Faith
Step forward even when emotions waver. Walking in obedience reminds you that presence is not felt, it is experienced through trust and action.
